So I found this excellent Stallone head cast on ebay, and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it for a while now. Then, I found the 50th anniversary Gung Ho, and it just seemed a perfect fit.
I sculpted the hair and bandana, and the scars on the chest, arm and face. Cut and sanded the wrists down some. Cut the holster and such off the pants, sanded and sculpted to clean up the seams, and he was good to paint. Then I realized I had made the hair incredibly too huge, so cut it back down and sculpted some more.
As far as the accessories went, I had plenty of Rambo fitting gear in the fodder box, had to make a sash for the arrow quiver, but that wasn't too bad. The knife, however, was a far different story. I started with a walking dead Daryl knife and sheath, it looked ok at first, but it just wasn't right. I dug some more and found a good blade for the job, but had to build a hilt and a sheath.
I've been a Rambo fan since I was a wee lad, so I very much enjoyed this one and had a good time taking pics. I couldn't resist the last pic, because his hair was just too 80s hair band to help myself after coming across Eric Dravens guitar on the fodder search. Of course, I had to bring my good buddy Herc along for the ride. Hope you guys like this as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks folks.
