Our Captain America ‪#‎CivilWar‬ extravaganza begins at...well, the beginning with the Iron Man Mark One repaint by Nicholas Chimera!

This figure started off life as a Mark One Iron Man from the first movie line of action figures. Incredible detail, no paint job at all. It was cast in a dull, gray plastic and that was it.

Nicholas started by priming the whole figure with a sandstone brown, including a textured finish. The figure was then repainted head-to-toe with the duel purpose of creating a metal feel while harkening to dessert warfare. The suit was made, after all, with spare parts from weapons meant for just that.

Nicholas used layers of washes and drybrushing to give the figure its weathered, rusted metal look. Taking a little artistic license, Nick added some dessert camo to certain asymmetrical chunks of the armor as well as some other detailing.
Finally, the eyes and arc reactor were painted with glow-in-the-dark paint!
