Chuck Taine wasn't the brightest errand boy for a famed scientist. Task with 'immediately' delivering a newly discovered super-fluid plastic, ol' Chuck thought it was a good idea to stop and take in a sporting event along the way. During the event, Chuck got thirsty and reaching for his drink, instead drank from the flask. And did this turn his insides into plastic and cause a slow, painful death? Nope. Being the silver age it granted good ol' Chuck the power to turn himself into a giant, bouncy ball. Hence the name, Bouncing Boy. You would think this to be a pretty useless super-power, so the Legion said 'pass' originally. But Chuck's power has proven to be quite formidable in battle. Don't think so? Set up a bunch of figures on the floor in a small room, then whip a super ball off the wall as hard as you can. Go on. We can wait right here.

See? Not so useless, right? Well, as much of a doofus origin as BB has, he somehow managed to become a longtime member of the Legion, and even proved that the big boys can still get the girl(s). And, like a rubber ball he'll come bouncing back to you (think I just dated myself with that one).

Bouncing on, for some reason a K-Mart near me has had over a dozen WWE Elite Brodus Clays in stock for well over 3-4 years now, even after he hasn't been in the WWE for years, because, well, K-Mart. This is the same store that thought the best way to get rid of the Green Goblin BAF Wave remnants was to raise the price from $19.99 to $24.99. Yep, they're all still there collecting dust together. Anyway, seeing all of these Brodusesses (Brodi?) together, and starting my Year of the Legion project, I wondered if the Funkasaurus could work for a base for good ol' Chuck Taine. But the Funkadactyl turned out to be a tad tall for DCUC scale so some mods were done. But, besides some DCUC hands, the rest of the figure is all WWE Elite Brodus Clay. I sanded down his extra chin, sculpted some hair and puffy cheeks, and also filled in his chest to remove any muscle definition. Besides that I had to chop down almost an inch off his lower legs so he'd be a more proper size. He's still a little taller than he should be (standard DCUC size but a bit taller than the teenage buck Legionaires) but there wasn't much boot left to remove so I'm pretty happy with him.

And now Funk really is on a roll., and another one bites the dust.

Long Live the Legion!

And thanks for looking!
