This figure is on the Hasbro Marvel Legends Captain America figure from the Thanos BAF wave.I was very dissapointed by how inaccurate to the actual Avengers AoU suit it was, so I customized it. However, by the time Civil War came rolling around, I decided to pass on the new Hasbro Giant Man wave BAF Cap and just customize my preexisting AoU Cap figure. I resculpted the shoulders to give it shoulder pads. I beefed up the biceps as the existing arms are so thin, and added the necessary details like the red striping and layered flaps on the outer arm. I redid the glove cuffs to be more screen accurate, and I also shortened the top flap on the torso so it covered more of the crevice where their were red striping on the chest (if that makes sense). I filled in the weird pattern on the legs, as it did not match the actual suit, and added cloth pockets on the side. I used cloth instead of sculpt as I could not get the sculpt to look good, and cloth would be less time consuming. I gave it a new paint job, with a base paint of black and dry brush of blue, dark reds and plain whites were they belong, and silver wherever necessary. I did several shades of brown on the straps and belt, so as to make it detailed. The boots have a combination of satin black and a matte black, with silver buckles. I repainted the shield a bright silver with a metallic red and satin blue(had no other blue), and then dry brushed brown and black to make it look worn out. I then did a cool effect on the edge of some parts of the shield to make it look like the red paint is coming off from all the battle, and the silver metal underneath is showing. For the Steve Rogers head, I repainted the hair with both gold and some satin brown and yellow mixed so that it has a similar look with the Hot Toys figure. I also added white dots to the pupils of the eyes to make them pop more. I am very satisfied with how this turned out, it may not be the best Cap custom on this site, but it looks good in my collection. Please wait... |
