Children avert your eyes lol! Be spared from the allure of being pulled into her gaze!
Went back and gave this custom a second run-at-it, restructuring the frame and adding more realism. The project first was to find a way to properly stand the figure up on its own. Added sculpt to the spine, blending in with her scales, to straighten the back and also attached an extra mid-section that gave the body a twist. Sculpting the spine alone wasn't enough to allow the figure to stand, so strategically fixed several thorns that resembled jutted scales that helped prop the figure up. The difficult part came when it was time to attach the hair. With all its slithery content, the hair weighed considerably, so the thorns needed to be repositioned at just the right angles. And those tiny thorns protruding from her lower abdomen not only provided support and balance but also helped create a visual counter-balance to the hot mess above.
The hair consists of tentacles, snakes, tails, and each were positioned to create a flow, almost like the strokes in calligraphy. The snakes have tongues to lash the air and their bodies intertwine with the tentacles of mythic sea monsters. All embedded within the DC Starfire hair, also used strands from a Bellatrix Lestrange figure for her locks.
Replaced the upper body with a Lady Death, got the face from a McF Lotus Angel, arms Fewture Silene, hands ML Hobgoblin, toy snake body with Kenner Panther Alien tail.
Added the diorama from an aquarium accessory with sculpted skulls, all dry-brushed to antiquity.
