This custom is a fantasy piece, and is a mixture of Kabal from Mortal Kombat and Blanka from Street Fighter. As you can see in the images, I started with a standard Bret Hart Hasbro figure, changed the head to one from a generic wrestling bootleg figure and a foot transplant from WWE JAKKS Umaga. I sculpted the mask, areas on the torso, legs, head and body hair, quite a lot, The tail of the jacket and front flap are from some scrap leather. I had a lot of fun making this, however, I do need a better camera. I did run out of time so the weapons and electricity ball aren't dry, you can see the hole in the fist where this will attach. I have added combo pics so you can see how it looked previously pre-custom, and different angles of the finished piece. My wife said "Have you FINISHED HIM?", I said "Yes, but its not PERFECT"... sorry.
Thanks a lot. It's been ages since attempting something more than a part switch and repaint. The undercoat spray I used didn't like the clay at all, so I had some issues with it, unfortunately making my final paint job thicker than I wanted it to be due to it needing around 4 coats. Was nice to sculpt again but took a lot on with this on in the time frame I had. I had a brief look at your page and see you're a fellow games lover, looking forward to having a proper look at your work.
Cheers Rudo. I'm a fan of the idea of amalgamating concepts. Although I'm not happy with the final piece due to issues I had with the undercoat sticking to the clay. When I get a chance (just become a dad, very little time), I'm going to give it a repaint. So will hopefully improve a bit. And like I say in the description, I need a much better camera to pick up details without blur. Cheers.
