Being a massive Spidey fan who loves the 90s, and the Clone Saga (yes I'm one of THOSE people), I had to make this guy. Especially since Hasbro won't because he'd require a totally unique sculpt with no reused parts. Well, they might make him a BAF one day.

So I actually started on this guy back in March 2016. I got about 50% through by April, and then got sick of it and gave up. Until I decided to dig him out in January. I had more motivation, and actually enjoyed it in the end.

I used Grim Reaper, since he was the perfect size for Kaine. Bucky Cap bases are too small in my opinion. I sanded off most of the boot edges at the base of the feet, gave him forearms from Toybiz brown Wolverine, and fitted Superior Venom hands on. The head is Sentry, sculpted over some areas to make his face more obscured like in the art. The hair was from Ultimate Spiderwoman, which was tricky to fit on the much bigger head of Sentry. I solved that by sculpting the sides to match and fill the gaps. I like the wind swept look.

The cape was hard to figure out how to do. I eventually settled on toybiz Morbius since it had that ripped look. I hated it though. But cut it down, and made it work. It kept getting sticky after being primed and painted, and sealed, so had to figure out how to remedy that. And I did by just using Testor's Dullcote brush on and then the spray. I usually top coat my figures with semi gloss for that "factory shine", but the stickiness ruined that so dullcote was the solution.

The sculpted on details took a while, and wasn't fun, but paid off. I had to figure out a way to do the fabric folding around his shoulders, and think it came out pretty well. Never done anything like that before.

Simple paintjob and he was finished, almost a year after starting. Actually enjoyed it towards the end. Sometimes need to leave things for a while and then come back to them.
