Madtinker 76, Windblock2002 and myself all love making MTOU custom figures.

Each of us has our own distinct style.

When they emailed me with the idea of us all making our own interpretation of the one character, I jumped at the chance! But who to make?

King Randor? Buzz Off? NINJOR?

Madtinker76 came up with Roboto. Perfect! Its one I had not thought of making, but as soon as I started thinking about him, the more ideas I got.

First off, base figures – ML Iron Man Hulkbuster came to mind, as well as an R.E.V Robot.

MOTU figures always had a gimmick action feature, Stinkor’s Stink, He-Man’s Power Punch… With this in mind I thought, it would be cool give Roboto an action feature. Upgradeable armour? Clear chest to see his gearbox?

Then I remembered I had an old ZKnight Robot in my garage. ZKnights are made by TOMY and are very similar to ZOIDS. Snap together Models with battery powered walking action. I used a CPU ZKnight, He kinda looks like Roboto, even down to the large feet portrayed in the new MOTU cartoon. I Sprayed him flat Black, then dry brushed gun metal grey, red and blue with highlights.

He still maintains his walking action and his arms are fully poseable at the elbows and shoulders, his hands also snap close. An added bonus is that the figure is all fully de-constructible to represent “battle damage” J

I am super keen to see what Windblock and Madtinker came up with.
