To Make this ‘Princess of Power’ style Princess Leia I started off with a vintage Glimmer figure as the base & cur off her hair. Next I re rooted her hair along the center parting & at her ears. I then braided her hair into 2 pigtails & styled them into a similar style as the iconic Princess Leia buns. I know that in the movie Leia’s buns were not braided but I thought it would be a nice look for this figure. Once her hair was done I painted her eyes brown using Humbrol enamel paints. Next up was her body. I painted her entire body white apart from her boots & cuffs which I painted silver. I also wanted to give my Leia figure a jewel on her chest as this was one on the iconic elements on a lot of the vintage She-Ra figures so I removed Glimmers pink Jewel & replaced it with a little pearl jewel. For some reason the pearl looks silver next to the white of her body but I didn’t mind as it fits in really well with her other accessories. I then started work on her belt/skirt. I got a vintage she-Ra belt & used as a template to make the pattern for my Leia belt. I made her belt from silver fake leather & cut out the shapes from Leia’s iconic belt in silver holographic tape & attached them to the leather. I made her skirt from white chiffon. It is not as fine as I would have liked as it looks more like netting in the close up pictures but in real life it looks a lot better. I really struggled finding a white fabric which is the same used for the vintage She-Ra figures. Once I cut the skirt out I hand stitched it to the belt with silver thread. To finish it off I attached 2 popper buttons which came from a damaged Castaspella skirt. To make her cape I used a Flutterina choker to make a pattern & changed the shape to match Leia’s belt. I then cut out the choker in the silver fake leather & attached a little triangle of holographic tape the same way I did for her belt. I then cut out a circle of the chiffon fabric & folded the top of it down part way & pleated along the center of the fold. This means she has a cape with a smaller layer on top which resembles her hood. I then hand stitched the cape to the choker & attached 2 popper buttons from an old damaged Glimmer skirt. To finish My Leia figure I wanted to give her an accessory so I thought the silver laser gun that came as part of the vintage He-Man figures weapons pack was perfect. ![]() |
