Hi everyone, I wanted a real looking Tony Stark so I took a Marvel Legends Mark 46 body, took a Hot Toys Iron Man II and shrunk the head. I then gave it the same style of detailed paint with many realistic and natural looking skin transitions. Painting it took a long time but the real work was the process of getting the head down to that size! But he turned out really cool and now my Marvel Legends Iron Man looks like a Hot Toy :)

Thanks! I like to use Vallejo paints. I don't have a recipe but I mix a bunch of skin tones until it looks close to the reference I'm using. In this case the original hot toys head. It can take some time to get it right I hear you with the struggle lol. Primer and base with airbrush, and I'll also do some highlighting by airbrush. then I do the shading and more highlighting by brush. Sometimes after it's done if there's too much contrast I'll spray it by airbrush with a really subtle spray of the original color to blend everything in a bit more.

Thanks! I feel it's still a work in progress for me but I cast a lot of practice heads and before painting I'll get a feel on a scrap head. And I use a 20/0 brush usually and a .005 pigma micron pen for the pupil.
