The same photographs, that inspired me, to repaint my haradrim-squad, made me realize, that the Darth Maul-figure, I’ve had bought for a different custom, is perfectly suitable for an haradrim : the harem-pants; the upper sleeves; lenghtwise striped sleeves on the forearms..exactly like on those pictures, which also taught me, that not only the mumakil riders wear such arrangements of poles, on their backs. The belt around his upper body prejudice the look of the figure, but to just glue the arrangements of poles, on the back, would have been an unrealistic way of attachment.

Recipe :

I’ve sculpted over D-Maul‘s head;
cut off the feet; dremeled off material of the lower legs, till there are stumps left ; casted haradrim lower legs; hollowed them out; put them over the stumps. Sculpted the transitions. The loss of the ankle-joints was on purpose, since an imbalance, due to the overhanging back-gear, was predictable.

I‘ve made the „skirt“ out of two types of cord, glued on leather and cut the „coat-tail“ out of an „Hama of Rohan“-gown.
The „cuirass“ and the belly-armor is sculpy, with imprinted pattern; cord around the contour and some applications, all made of sculpy. Hand-and forearm-armor is sculpted over plastic. Thread for the cording.

The arrangement of poles, is made of bambus-sticks; sculpy; abalone- and colored rocailles and cord.
The great eye, on top of the center-pole is sculpted and removeable.
