This is my first real attempt at a custom figure, beyond just repainting parts. I had just recently sold my Marvel Select Mephisto, but regretted it after seeing INFINITY WAR, as I then wanted to recreate the Thanos/Mephisto scene from the original INFINITY GAUNTLET comic. So I set out to create my own Mephisto, in Legends scale.

I planned on a straight-up adaption (I still will, probably), but then I started to put my own touches on it, mainly by adding more black pieces, to offset the red, with gold accents.

It's mostly a kit-bash, with a couple of sculpted pieces:

-The head sculpt was a custom obtained online.

-The body is Marvel Legends Killmonger from the Black Panther movie wave. It was the perfect choice, IMO. The lean build works well for Mephisto's lankiness, and the butterfly joints and leg flexibility lend themselves to his crouched and sneaky poses. The clawed hands were a given. Mostly, it was the texture that grabbed me. At first, I wanted something reptilian/dragon-like, and experimented with the scaled Green Goblin body. But with Killmonger, the raised bumps and lines gave it an insectisoid/crustacean texture, like an exoskeleton armor.

-The neck/shoulder piece is from ToyBiz Doctor Strange, with the cloak pieces removed.

-The skirt is from Marvel Legends Doctor Strange movie wave, modern comic version, with the attached belt strands coming from Brother Voodoo, from that same wave.

-The forearm glove folds and feet points were hand-sculpted with Sculpy.

-The base is used from the Marvel Select Ghost Rider figure, and the throne is from a McFarland Toys Spawn figure.
