This is a custom I have just finished working on of a 12” Barbie made to fit in with the vintage Action Man Space Ranger figures from the 1980’s.
To Make her I used a ‘Made to Move’ Barbie body as it is the most articulated Barbie body & a 1971 Barbie head as I feel this head fits in best with the Action Man figures.
Her jumpsuit was from a vintage Action Girl doll but I altered it to fit Barbie a little better. Her boots also came from an Action Girl doll.
Her gloves are from a CY Girl figure.
Her helmet is from the Action Man Space Ranger line but I painted it white & added a coating of iridescent medium to give it a better sci-fi feel.
I then designed her Tabard to fit in with the other Action man Space Ranger uniforms & added a medical logo as she is the ships Doctor. Her tabard is silver blue & it wouldn’t be right not to include some ‘Barbie Pink’ details.
Once I had finished designing her tabard I printed it out onto some silver fake leather fabric. I also made her an arm band to match.
Finally I printed out some medical stickers for her helmet & also for her medical case which came from a 1990’s Action Man figure.
