This was one of those ideas that were spur of the moment but I really got into and really enjoyed how it turned out.

I wanted to do a Cyborg Maul figure in the 1/6 scale, originally like he was seen in the EU comic 'Old Wounds' and in his early Clone Wars appearance (long horns, no shirt, crazy) but a few things kept me from that.

The base of this guy came from a EP 1 Darth Maul figure, one of the kind that came with removable legs so you could reenact the whole body chopping seen. Those old Hasbro bodies are built tough, but there isn't much joint movement. The Old Wounds Maul is shirtless showing off all his tattoo's but I ended up worrying about excessive paint rub. Likewise, the figures head is hollow and although I could have sculpted on horns, I was worried any head distortion would cause the horns to fall off and yeaaaah.

So I scrapped my original design and made him more of my own. Giant mechanical legs, black robes mix.

The legs themselves are from a Lego General Grievous. Normally I don't like using Lego parts that much, but for mechanical legs, they worked absolutely perfect. They look awesome, they have amazing articulation and they can support the upper body with no problems.

I ended up drilling into the upper body and running a post from the waist into it, which was heavily super glued (it's not going anywhere). For extra support, I drilled a hole through the waist armor and Maul's waist and put a screw into it. There's no waist movement unfortunately, but his legs aren't going anywhere. Then I touched the waist to make it look more mechanical.

The last thing to do was his double bladed lightsaber. I personally thing this is the weakest are for me, just because I would have rather used a more realistic Sideshow type saber. Unfortunately, they run a pretty penny so I made due with what I had. The saber was actually from two Lego sabers put together and painted. An added bonus though was that since they are Lego pieces, while I superglued most of it together for strength, I left the middle section free so the two sides are removable, so the saber can be pulled apart at the middle for easier placement in the hands.

Figure Features:

-1/6 scale-he is meant to 'realistically' fit into any 1/6, 12 inch scale figure collection

-Custom design

-Roughly 39 points of movement (Cyborg legs allow for a WIDE range of poses, however the figure does NOT have waist movement)

-Custom Double lightsaber
-For easier removeability, the lightsaber can be pulled apart in the middle to make it easier to place in the hand or take out with less paint rub or force.
