This is another kitbash custom I've had a hard time with. There was a lot of experimentation going on in this one.

This is my favorite of Storm's modern costumes, and with just getting 80's Storm, talk about 90's Storm coming, and how overdue Giant Sized Storm is, I fear this one would be lost to wishlists. So, it started off as a part swap between the upper body of the Apocalypse wave Storm and Wasp. I removed the paint on Wasp's abs and thought "Hey, this might work after all".

Storm's smirking head is pretty great, but I wanted something more stoic like the Jubilee wave head. So I reshaped the lips , re positioned her raised eyebrow and filled in the pronounced dimple. For the hair, I used the lower half of Polaris' curly hair then sculpted and integrated the top,of course integrating a tiara. When Storm had this costume her hair was rather flat, but I don't particularly like that. Think more of a MUA2 approach.

Now, the biggest issue I had with this one was those arm straps and trying to find a way to make them sit well, but also allow them enough freedom to move out of the way for posing. I bought an ultra metallic gold plastic ribbon on Amazon, and it's working pretty well. I also matched up her bracelets in the same gold, and her pendant with metallic gold that has the same hue.

Her belt was made from a Captain Marvel belt (BIG shout out to Wings who hooked me up with one!), and the lightning bolts sculpted and painted in the same gold. The cape is a whole debacle that will be revisited. I liked the idea of the shiny black, but the execution is lacking, plus the trim of gold fabric paint dried sticky. It's wired, so it still has some movement.

Recipe:

Upper torso, arms, hands, head, feet : Storm (Apocalypse wave)
Lower torso,legs : Wasp
Lower hair: Polaris

Thank you for looking!

It's my favorite of her "modern" Storm outfits (I say modern, it's probably over a decade old at this point!) Thanks for the compliments
