Also have to say that Gamora may be one of the only truly "Goth girl" figures in mainstream comics. unlike other dark haired female characters, Wonder Woman, Wasp,.. Gamora was really painted as a "BAD GIRL." In comics, she was not the relatively sweet, caring Gamora we see modern movies. She was kind of a dark, self-interested, colder, harsh personage. I do not remember her being particularly nice or kind to other characters around her. She came off as kind of self-contained.

And this figure certainly captures that dark & dangerous side of her.

Have received this figure and have to say that I agree with last 2 posts,.. She is veritable PERFECTION! I pleaded this artist to remake this character because of how great his first classic Gamora was. Not one to rest on his laurels, this version is far superior to the first. He has really outdone himself here. This is an artist who takes a well known character and does his own very unique original version of them. His versions are always surprisingly deft and refreshingly modern.

This Gamora should be in the custom figure hall of fame. I think I mentioned that the first one was a bit too muscular for me. In comics, they usually drew her very thin and slinky (Zoe Saldana, perfect, right?). Even tho she would perhaps need some muscles to be in on fighting all of those thugs, it's not how she was drawn. Here he has thinned her down and made her somehow more ferocious in the process. The extreme attention to details again is in full view. The Mera face he has used so brilliantly in past is given new life in this character. The skin coloring, the steely gaze of determination, the closed fist and readied weapon,.. and OH!! that costume!!! Only in the 70s would you get away with sending what is supposed to be most deadly woman in the universe into battle in a full bodied fishnet stocking. Just as nearly naked as any character ever has been in comics. Again the warpaint on the face over that skin color that plunges down to her navel, plus the seriously aggressive gaze of absolute readiness and confidence,.. coupled with that sweeping hair-do that is so perfectly chosen again. While her hair in comics was fairly flat and straight with bangs. The artist has chosen here to re-think her style in a dramatic tangled framing effect of motion, rage and sexiness that runs over her shoulders and down to her waist in the back. Her comic book style was more Crystal Gayle demure. This one is a winding, billowing, wind-swept look fit for a full-tilt diva. The little skulls in her costume along with the very 70s belt really stand out highlighted in bright yellow. Her furry shawl(??) giving her added 70s (sort of Sonny & Cher style) appeal is cut from a real fur fabric (adding a realness,.. not everything is plastic).

The sword weapon is also this artists addition. As I do not remember her ever carrying a weapon way back when. But when attacked by hordes of alien thugs as often as they were, you would think that she absolutely would be brandishing some kind of weapon in readiness. This one looks ideal. So glad he chose it. And as for those perfectly spaced lines on her fishnet costume (that covers most of her body),.. I do not for the life of me know how he creates these effects. But the result is so masterful that it is truly breathtaking. As the lines appear to get tighter near creases in the body and widen over perceived stretched spaces (like wider parts of legs). There is not a single line out of place, corrected or muffed. Again, I can not imagine that anyone could do that by hand. I am simply at a loss to explain it. I once asked a custom artist to do the squiggle lines over classic Wonder Man's midrift. He told me "too difficult."
The detailing on this figure is almost supernatural. He is the MASTER of women with attitudes.
A grateful nation pays you homage, sir.
