Ensign Pavel Chekov has always been my least favorite character in Star Trek. Added in the second season, Chekov was designed to capitalize on the “Davy Jones” heartthrobs of the 1960s in the hopes the show would appeal to and attract teenage girls. It wasn’t until the character was assayed by the late Anton Yelchin in the reboot was the character of any interest to me, mostly because of his performance, but also due to the fact that the filmmakers actually took some care in writing him and giving him some purpose in the plot.

The figure is a repurposing of a Sulu figure from the Star Trek Playmates line. Also pictured is his Engineering tunic, as he is briefly promoted to head of that department in Star Trek Into Darkness. Figure was completed in January 2019.
