In IDW's non-Hama continuity, Krake was originally known by the name of Tiger Eyes. He was a drug dealer from the "Golden Triangle" area of Southeast Asia. After being informed of a spy in his ranks, rather than ferret out the traitor, he killed all the men in his service thus leading to Major Bludd compared him to a particularly mean Australian snake known as a krake. (In actual reality, there is no such snake. And now you know--Bob). Eventually Krake was employed by Cobra where he quickly rose up the ranks to the point where he participated in a contest to name the next Cobra Commander when the last one was killed. Krake, of course, being the newly introduced character, won out the contest over stalwarts like the Baroness and Major Bludd.


But this custom is based off his Krake persona. This era of IDW isn't really a favorite of mine, but it introduced some new characters who I thought had some cool looks deserving of joining my 3.75 ranks.

So, his harness and legs are from Marauder Task Force, while his head was a cast purchased off the Angel Forge website. The torso and arms came from a Retaliation Zartan figure with some sculpted gauntlets and knives from a couple of Alley Vipers. And some paint. Of course, Krake needs his own troops so I took a couple of Lanard the Corps Shrapnel figures and painted them into Cobra blue and red troopers I decided to call, for lack of any creativity whatsoever, Skull Vipers. Maybe a bit on the nose, no? Oh, well.
