make sure youre not applying too much or applying it too close. also make sure the figure is in an area where it'll have a good air supply (putting it in a box or even a closet can slow down drying time). it could also be the type of sealant you're using; what brand do you use?

I use the Mod Podge Matte Clear Acrylic Sealant Spray, which works well enough for me. I notice that after I've first sprayed my figures with Testors Dullcote, the matte sealant still adds a little bit of shine to the figure, though I guess not enough to make it technically "gloss". It's really comparable to the semi-shine of the Super Powers Green Lantern figure. Over time I've figured out how you spray the figures makes a ton of difference. You don't want to spray the figures from too close, or over-saturate them, you can either fade them (more like cause a white coating) or make the figure overly glossy.

Hi, I need help!!! Can't anyone tell me with what can I prime a soft plastic jacket so that I can paint without the paint flaking after its dried ? I read about the Krylon and Plastikote but they are sprays, is there a brush on plastic primer that will work and not make the pant flake or be tacky after painting is dry????

I wouldn't use primer, just wash the part well to remove all grease and junk, then paint it with acrylics since they're naturally a little flexible. There are additives you can buy to make paint more flexible though, ask your local art store for something like liquid latex.

For those of you asking about jackets or your figure becoming tacky after applying paint. the best solution is actually a "prelution". The tackiness occurs when the figure, cape, or what have you wasn't primed properly. The primer and fresh coat of paint will not end up tacky. Also, a light coat of Testors Dullcote will help in this as well, but let it set a day before handling. Dullcote will also cut that glossy sheen, shiny is not good unless we are talking metallic or leather details.

I already bought a spray sealant but it's gloss an I can't change it , on what kind of paint or customs can I still use it , so it doesn't end up as a waste , (I will definitively get matte next time) , and will seal affect in any way the articulation?

Use that gloss seal on metal details bud. Or pretty much anything metallic. Keep in mind it takes longer to wet too than matte finish.

are there any kinds of sealer that don't dull your colors like modge podge matte does? The bright red on my figure dulls when I use it.

I also had this problem, specially with rubber parts or soft plastic . I 'll try coating them with another layer of paint to see if it helps with removing the sticky layer...another solution could be using a little turpentine (aguarraz) to remove it ...
