Reaslistic Skin Tones Custom Tutorial
Explains the method I use to achieve my skintones
This custom tutorial was contributed by Darththomas
Hey all, I hope this short tutorial will help you learn how I achieve my flesh tones. The newspaper is for wiping the paint off your brush and the kitchen towel is to dry your brush after rinsing it. Dry brushing will not work with a wet brush. This tutorial assumes you know how to dry brush, if not, I think there's a great drybrush tutorial by Dr.nightmare on here too so check that out. There are also a couple on how to take figures apart. This tutorial will focus entirely on my painting method.
I always finish off with a final drybrush of Bleached Bone, just to pick out small areas, think where the light drops and try to apply it in those sort of areas. I hope you found this tutorial useful and if you are trying for different skin tones just experiment, I found that three shades gets the best results.

Sorry guys, I was way off on my color comparisons. I'll leave it to the master should he decide to do another tut with the new colors.

Citadel went through a whole new naming scheme for their paints. As far as I can tell Tanned flesh is now called Bestigor flesh, Bronzed flesh is now called Ungor flesh, Dwarf flesh is now called Cadian Flesh, and there's another one called Kislev flesh that's about halfway between Elf flesh and Bleached bone. If anyone is better informed please correct me.

not very often, I test fit as I go so I know where to apply superglue. The shoulders are well protected and I'll probably do another tutorial to show how I stop paint rub on the shoulder joints.

When you apply super glue, does it leave a lot of sheen? Maybe its the glue I'm using in particular, but when I use it, it's always rediculously shiny. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. GREAT TUTORIAL! I look forward to using this with shades of blue to make Archangel!

Yeah, it's Loctite easy brush that I use and yes it always leaves a super shiny coat. I use games workshop satin purity shield after my paint jobs are complete, this brings down the shine of the superglue so it looks the same as the other parts.
