Gandalf the White (Beige Sheath, Off-White Robes) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X Gandalf the White, the higher form of Gandalf the Grey
This is definitely a quality LOTR figure. One of the few figures that is an EXACT replica of his movie counterpart. He comes equipped with two weapons, his staff(which is very nicely sculpted) and a sword with sheath. He may also have a swinging arm feature(I'm pretty sure he does), mine is buried under all my other LOTR figures lol
His color is exactly what it should be, all white. His hair, clothes and staff are all white and his hair is the right length. His sheath is black while his sword is silver and is made with hard plastic, it doesn't bend and its sturdy. The sheath belt is a brown color.
To top all this off, hes got all the good movement, the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, thighs, knees and feet, all of which allow to...[See More]
Faramir (Sword Weilding) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X The younger brother of Boromir and supposed heir to the throne of Gondor, Faramir was a skilled warrior.
As most basic LOTR figures, Faramir stands at about 6 inches. He bears two weapons, a sword with sheath and a longbow with quiver and several arrows. He also has a special feature, a lever on his back, when pulled this lever causes him to swing his right arm up and down, allowing for sword swining action. Sadly, Faramir is one of those figures whose head looks very little like its movie counterpart. His head looks dumb, like hes lost. His hair is also the wrong color, its to dark while in the movie he had more blonde. The other bad thing is his sword. It comes in his right hand, prepacked. This is a bad thing because his right hand is like a rock, you CANNOT move the thing and the way...[See More]
I think you already reviwed the few I have from the Helm''s Deep Gift pack x_X I wanted to get a Faramir so bad! How tall is he exactly? 5.9 inches? 6.1?
Easterling Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X The Easterling's, a race of evil men who allied themselves with Sauron against the free people of Middle Earth.
Here is one of the coolest LOTR figures ever made in my opinion. He stands 6 inches tall and looks exactly like his movie counterpart. Clad in gold armor, he comes with two items, a spear and a shield. The spear fits nicely into his right hand(the only "holding" hand) while the shield needs a little more work to slip over his open left hand.
Paint job is exactly like his movie counterpart, gold armor, red robes underneath the armor. The shield is gold with brown paint. The spear handle is brown while the blade is silver. His eyes even include the distinctive black marks from the movie!!!
Articulation is the norm, movement at the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, thighs and...[See More]
Chris Redfield / Cerberus Video Game Super Stars Presents (Toy Biz) - Resident Evil Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X The hotshot main character and the blood thirsty dogs from the first RE game, could there be anything better?
Our hero Chris stands at 5 1/4 inches tall, still short for the RE line. this is again, due to his pose. He's in that aiming the gun pose, leaning slightly to the right and forward to line up the shot. He comes with several points of interest, the first being his weapons. He comes with three ways to deal out the pain, a knife, a revolver and a flamethrower. The knife is pretty cool but one thing, its to small, he cant hold it properly. Thus as all small objects, its doomed to be stuck in its case, right above his left breast with hilt down. The revolver is good, it actually fits in his hand, alas there is no holster so I improvised and now when Christ goes on missions he carries...[See More]
Hunter / Chimera Video Game Super Stars Presents (Toy Biz) - Resident Evil Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X More monsters have made it out of the RE world and into the way of Action Figures.
Like the Tyrant, these guys are cool. Since there are two, this review will be broken down so I don’t miss anything.
First up is the Hunter, one of my favorite enemy’s from the RE universe. Like most of the other RE figures, he bears a good likeness. Standing at about 4.75 inches he is slightly short, mainly due to his sculpt which displays him in a ready to go pose. He has one big action feature. Like the Tyrant, he also has a "free waist" which allows him to perform the slashing move. His however looks more realistic since not only is the waist tighter which allows him to spin faster but he also has an "item" on his right claw. This item is on his middle and index claw and is what appears to be part of...[See More]
Tyrant Video Game Super Stars Presents (Toy Biz) - Resident Evil Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X The ultimate bio-weapon. Nearly unstoppable and just as unpredictable as you can get...
Being a huge RE fan, I jumped at the chance at getting a Tyrant figure off Figurerealm. I can happily say it was money well spent, this guy is awesome. bearing a perfect likeness to his game character, the tyrant stands at about nine inches tall, easily dwarfing other RE characters just like he should. He features two points of interest. One is his "blood pumping" action. In the front of his chest, on the left side is a large organ type thing. Here there are two circular slots along with the organ that aren’t painted a translucent red like the rest of the organ, but clear. By pushing a cleverly hid button, disguised as a blob of tissue, inwards, artificial blood(red water)gets moved around the organs,...[See More]
Orc Overseer (with Newborn Uruk-Hai) Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Series 2 Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X Here's another LOTR rings character that’s only seen for a few minutes, has no big impact but turned out to be a good figure.
Our good friend the Overseer was part of the spawning pools in Isengard and helped cultivate the Uruk Hai warriors. He stands at about 5.30 inches tall, he would be taller but he was sculpted in a semi leaning position that makes him shorter, though not by to much. He comes with several things. First off, a ninetail whip that fits only in his right hand, the left one being open while right being closed. On his back is a small lever, when pulled down he swings his right arm, thus swinging the whip. He also comes with a spawning "bed" which resembles a strange plant with several large slits at the top. The slips are to allow another item, an Uruk body into the...[See More]
Aragorn (Helm's Deep) Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Series 3 Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X Frodo Baggins may have carried the ring to be destroyed but we all know Aragorn aka Strider is one of the biggest reasons he made it as far as he did.
ToyBiz has done a good job with the LOTR toy lines but there have been problems. One of these problems is the fact that several characters are constantly redone for each series. Aragorn is no exception, there are more then 3 versions of him out there. One however, stands above the rest, Helm's Deep Aragorn.
The king of men comes with several neat things. First he comes with his sword and a scabberd, the sword fits in well. The sword itself can be held in any hand but the right is preferred. The reason for this is due to his swinging action. When his legs are squeezed together, he quickly turns to the right and slashes down. He also comes...[See More]
Bossk Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Hologram Green Card Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X One of the bounty hunters called by Darth Vader to hunt Han Solo and friends, Bossk was on the most ruthless.
The bounty hunter known as Bossk stands 3.75 inches tall. He comes with two weapons: a blaster pistol and a blaster rifle. Both weapons can fit in only the right hand since the left one is in an open position. The pistol fits in like any other figures weapon but the rifles different. Due to its shape and size, one must put the rifles sling over his shoulder to get the handle in his hand which gets a bit annoying.
Bossk is another of those almost exact replica movie characters. Sporting his yellow and white flight suit from the movie, Bossk is ready to go hunting. Both guns are a silver color and his skin is a reptilian green complete with the feeling of scales. His eyes are also...[See More]
Sharku & Warg Beast Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Toy Biz) - Deluxe Horse & Riders Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X Sharku, the leader of the Warg riders from Isengard. Along with his comrades, they attacked the refugees of Rohan and took down many warriors and horses before Sharku was killed and his men were turned back.
To say this is one of my favorite figures is an understatement. This guy has got just about everything. Sharku comes with two things of interest. The first is a small riding dagger, one that fits in either hand but the right is preferred. the reason for this is because on his back Sharku has a small button. When the button is pushed in his right arm raises and then lowers quite fast when released, creating the perfect slash attack with the dagger.
Sharku is much like his movie counterpart. He comes wearing a warg pelt on his back, a small piece of armor across his chest, a...[See More]
