Sauron (Electronic Lights & Sounds)
Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Large Electronic Figures
Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X
Sauron, the dark lord of Morder, leader of masses of Orcs, Trolls and many other nasty things. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting one of these figures to be made. He was only featured in his physical form in the first movie for maybe five minutes. Of course, in that time he caused hell. The dark lord stands 10 inches tall and comes with several cool things. First off, he comes with his awesome mace, the one he used to blow groups of warriors away with one swing. It’s basically a replica of the movie one except mine is a bit bent. He also comes with a small pouch holding a few rings. Apparently Toybiz was thinking and each figure comes with about 5 small rings incase one gets lost. The right hand also has a cool feature. Right where the fingers meet knuckle they come out. Like in the movie...[See More]

Yes he does.
Treebeard (Branch Lifting)
Lord of the Rings - Return of the King (Toy Biz) - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X
Treebeard, living tree shepard from the second Lord of the Rings installment, The Two Towers. His main purpose in the series was to rally the other tree shepards, the Ents, to fight against the evil known as Sauron. This was one guy I thought would just about never be made into a figure because of his size. The average LOTR's figure is 6 inches and Treebeard dwarfed them in the movies. Two variants were made though. One was a shrunk down version that was 6 inches (which I found insulting) and the true version, the one being reviewed here, that stands at 14 inches tall. While he doesn’t come with any weapons, he does come with a few features. The right arm has a small protruding branch at the top, near the shoulder, that when pull raises his whole arm up and down, good for throwing those...[See More]
Al Simmons
Spawn - Movie (McFarlane) - Basic Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X
Ahh has anyone NOT heard of the classic Spawn line? I’m guessing its very few people that can be put in that category. However, many people, myself at one point, wouldn’t have the slightest clue who Spawn was before well, he was Spawn. The man I’m speaking of, the one destined to become Spawn is Al Simmons, government assassin, murdered by his comrades and sent to Hell. Our good buddy Al stand bout 6 inches tall. He comes with two accessories, well technically three. The first is a machine gun type weapon. To me, it looks like something a future Punisher might use in battle. he also comes with a tripod backpack. Its a tripod pack because its also a missile launcher. The pack can either stand on its on via three small legs or it can hook into Simmons back by sticking two hooks in the pack...[See More]

Stormtrooper
Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Red Card
Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X
The dreaded Imperial Stormtrooper, foot soldier of the soulless Empire. Another figure from the '95 Star Wars series. Standing at 3.75 inches, the Stormtrooper makes for a good infantry man. Along with his white armor, the Stormtrooper also comes with two weapons. The first weapons is the blaster, the standard Stormtrooper weapon and also the most common weapon seen in the original Star Wars movies. The second weapon is a blaster rifle, a bigger, more dangerous gun that also features a strap to be slung over the Stormtroopers shoulder. Both weapons can be hold in either of the Stormtroopers hands as both hands are in an open, ready to hold position. The Stormtrooper features an easy, but well done paint job. The armor is the classic faceless white as is most of the helmet. The troopers...[See More]
Boba Fett
Star Wars - Power of the Force II (Kenner) - Red Card
Rated 5.00 stars by Mr-X
Boba Fett, the galaxy's most infamous but honorable, cruel but human bounty hunter As a figure from the 1995 Star Wars:Power of the Force line, Boba set some nice standards. Standing at about 3.75 inches, he left a big mark on the series. He comes with several accessories, his laser rifle, a wookie pelt and a removable jetpack. The blaster is a very close replica that fits nicely into either of Boba's hands without much trouble and doesn’t fall out easily. The wookie pelts are cool to. The act kinda like a scarf and fit around Boba’s neck, hanging off to his right but not obstructing any movement. They are semi-moveable allowing them to bend for a little bit of posing. The jetpack, which could have made or broken the figure with how it fit on, is quite good. Its an exact replica of its...[See More]

On a whole, I found that the Power of the Force line gave male characters chests that were much too big. They all looked like He-Man figures to me.

I agree on that. There were some that came out pretty good though, most of the Luke Skywalker figures came out slim, at least less then most other figures. Most of them looked way to pumped.
Im not sure if it was a collectors edition or anniversary Boba Fett but he looks MUCH better and has more articulation.
Cave Troll (Sound & Action)
Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring (Toy Biz) - Large Electronic Figures
Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X
Out of on of the best series of all time, the dreaded Cave Troll from the first Lord of the Rings(LOTR) This guy is truly a work of art. He stand at a giant size of about 12 inches. He comes with several exciting features. First he comes with two weapons, a spiked mace that is in his right hand, sadly its loose in the hand but the hand is permanently closed due to being molded. The next weapons is the long spear used to stab Frodo. Luckily this weapon, which obviously goes in the left hand, is loose and can be taken out of the hand. Again, sadly, the right hand is also molded in a frozen, holding/jabbing position. The Troll features two knobs on his back, one on the right and left side. The right knob, when pushed down, cause the troll to swing the hammer down on anyone dumb enough to be...[See More]
Nightstorm Predator
Predator (Kenner) - Series 1
Rated 4.50 stars by Mr-X
Here we have another review on everyone?s favorite hunter: the Predator Lets start off with the general figure and what it comes with. Of course, its got all the usual Predator gear. Armor encases both shoulders, thighs and legs. Both arms also sport gauntlets. Unlike the other Predator I recently reviewed, this one has his wrist blades "extended" on his right arm. Like most Predators, he sports a fixed Plasma Cannon on his left shoulder. His mask is creatively designed and fits snugly onto his face. Unlike the previous Predator, instead of two pegs attaching to two holes in the side of the head, this mask attaches via four small holes in the mask that fit onto the four face mandibles, giving it a snug and good looking fit. Our hunter comes with two accessories besides the mask. The...[See More]

Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 23 - Mutations
Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X
Spawn and McFarlane, a series and a company that rule their respective industries. Could they do any better? The answer: yes, yes they can!!! What we have here is Mutated Spawn from McFarlane?s "Spawn Mutations" line, a series supposed to represent an alternate reality in the Spawn universe. The main story focuses around Spawn fully grasping his demonic powers which then force his body to mutate into this creature. Our fellow here stands at about 5.75-6 inches, more then big enough to take on any ML figure. His mutations turned him into a beast, and that?s exactly what he looks like. He comes in what looks like a standing/about to leap pose, along with an angry mouth opened in a predator roar. Both hands are open and the right claw has a sickle type tendril coming out above his middle...[See More]

Warrior Alien vs. Renegade Predator
Aliens (Kenner) - Series 2
Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X
The two most brutal creatures have begun the war... I?m talking about the Aliens and the Predators here. These two figures are pretty good for Hasbro 90's figures, stuff from them and then are usually...odd. The pack comes with one Warrior Alien, one Predator and a small comic story. Both figures are pretty cool and the comic is actually good for just a small extra. On to the figures... The Alien is about 4 inches tall and is a solid flat black with a semi-translucent purple for the top of the head. The only spot not black is a pair of buckteeth type things that are supposed to be teeth I guess and are painted silver. For a small guy, he?s actually quite moveable, supporting articulation at both thighs/waist, at the tail where it meets the body, at both shoulders and at the head. The...[See More]

Are their heads big enough to look good on 6-7 inch figures? Like for a custom Predator...not that I''m making one...

Sure, im pretty sure it work. I matched the head of the Predator to a Lord of the Rings(very much like Marvel Legends) and the Predator head is slightly bigger but after slight dremeling or body alterations it look fine. The good part is, the Predator and Alien series in the Figurereal store are cheap so you have lots of choices.
Creech CI.001
Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 25 - Classic Comic Covers 2
Rated 4.75 stars by Mr-X
What?!? When did the Hulk fuse with Omega Red?!? No this never really happened but you might think that when you first see this guy. First off, this guys name is "The Creech" and he?s from Image Comics by a comic of the same name. Since Image is a McFarlane associate, McFarlane did this guy. Me, I had never heard of him before but I was walking through a KBtoys and there he was for $10 bucks so I picked him up. He?s actually pretty good for a McFarlane figure. Everyone who?s into toys know McFarlane quality: Great Detail, poor articulation. I can happily say that it isn?t all the case here. He sports articulation at both thighs, both shoulders, on the right arm at the elbow and the left right at the gauntlet. Another sweet thing is that all the tubes that make up his "hair" are...[See More]
