Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) Reviews
Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 12 - Apocalypse Series
Rated 4.00 stars by enice
well i really like this one... and wolverine is my 2nd fav. xmen (nightcrawler #1 fovever) but its a very good one nice size and attention to detail but mine came with 2 problems 1. His hands have the fingers curled as in a fist and they are all together and they move in fist shape or a stupid looking "half fist" i dont know what to call it but its pretty much open or closed. now the closed look is cool and i like it but mine, his left hand wont friggin close ive tried a lot and i dont wanna break it so he just sits looking dumb. 2. The other problem is his "toes" i guess are broken too... its only 1 piece like any figure ive seen with a poa in its foot but it goes past the point where it should stop. so pretty much he can point his toes down not his foot his toes, also because of that...[See More]

Hah, I know Marvel was trying to make Wolvie have a modern-looking suit but I don''t like it either. x_X I got used to the standard yellow and blue :P
Sometimes Toy Biz hides the "ugly parts" of a figure with the stickers of the packaging
Apocalypse [Build-A-Figure]
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 12 - Apocalypse Series
Rated 4.00 stars by VariablePenguin
As I slowly amassed the parts for this figure, it dawned on me: This is a really freaking cool looking figure. Towering over the other Marvel Legend's figures, Apocalpse is a gigantic menace. There were a few flaws in him from the manufacturing stand point: short packed arms that came with figures without cords, suddenly changing his arm and leg colors in a second wave making it harder to put together a uniform figure, joints that don't want to move. Some of these are easy to gorgive in say a Wolverine figure where you spent $5 and can just pull his right leg apart to fix the glued shut joint, but with Apocalypse, each body part cost $5 or 6 or 7 or 12 and that means a lot when it's an arm or leg you have to fix. His arms and legs are designed so that you CAN NOT accidentally put...[See More]
Apocalypse [Build-A-Figure]
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 12 - Apocalypse Series
Rated 2.50 stars by VariablePenguin
Marvel Legends BAF Apocalypse Lower Torso This may seem odd to review a part of a figure, but it came as it's own thing so that's how I'm reviewing it. First, it fits into the upper torso well and the hoses attach to it from the arms well. The legs fit into the ball joints well also. Here's the real problem though, those ball joint REALLY do not want to move. I broke one of them off just trying to get his legs up. I've had to crack it apart (which is a real pain because I had to remove it from the upper body first) and rebuild the pivot point. I really wish toy companies would give their figures a few good joint moves in the factory to losen up any heat expansion problems and paint build up. This part of Apocalypse would be very cool if it weren't screwing me over and making me...[See More]

Lol, an elbow joint on my Panther and a knee on a Warbird were locked up from too much dried paint. I had to force the joint to move and tore the plastic. Fixing stuff that shouldn''t need fixing in the first place is a real drag!

I replaced the lower torso again on my Apocalypse and I heated up the joint and got it to move. I then proceeded to pose him and the FREAKING THING BROKE AGAIN!!!! It''s the same joint again. His right leg ball joint.
Now I need a THIRD lower torso to fix the freaking thing again. The way the joint meets the figure inside, I can''t use a screw or anything to fix it. I blame the problem with this joint on the larger socket on the leg. I think it fits more firmly than the other leg and the lack of shifting at this point allows for a disproportionately large transferance of energy to the pivot point.

Storm
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 8
Rated 4.00 stars by rex
This was one of my favorite charecters from the x-men. the figure came out well.her body sculpt came out very elegant and gracefull for such a power full mutant. though her hair was to poofy and there was too much of it and her legs could only stick out to the sides. but not every thing is perfect but she is a one of a kind that you must have!...[See More]
Warbird
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Giant Man Series
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
And just when I thought the female Marvel Legends figures couldn't be salvaged, Warbird comes along and leaves me pleasantly buzzed. This is the perfect basic female figure for any custom you can think of. The body is great and best of all, no more ugly hips! It's like Rogue's or Black Cat's body except with pretty legs! Sweet! Warbird stands 6 inches tall and has semi-long blonde hair. The hair is made of soft plastic, like the red sash at her hips, but the highlights on it are a little...weird? Looks fine. And wow what a pretty face! She has dark red lipstick and a black half-mask around her perfectly painted blue eyes. This is actually one of the best paint jobs I've seen on a face! She has a black one-piece suit worthy of the beach. Her womanly essences are well-sculpted :) She has a...[See More]

The Warbird/Ms Marvel I agree the body & face are sexy, but I the believe the hair could have been better.

Yeah, the hair was actually a little sloppily painted as well since it is soft rubber. I just made a Black Cat custom out of her and changed the hair anyway though
Bishop
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 12 - Apocalypse Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Bishop always seemed like an interesting character, but thanks to having no money in my pockets, I could never buy the comics to learn his story. I always had to learn information second-hand with a biased edge like "Bishop is a wuss because he didn't do this in issue blah blah" or "Bishop is a god because he's so awesome and nothing kills him blah blah", just like with any other information you can think of. I'd rather learn information myself. When Bishop was made as a Marvel Legend I still couldn't buy him (hah), until recently. He looks great in the comics, but the toy doesn't exactly capture that image. There are way too many little imperfections. Bishop stands 6.75 inches to the top of his head and a little taller to the top of his long, black, swept-back hair. Already a...[See More]

Great review I totally agree, maybe if they went with body type of Sentry or Wonderman.

True, even something like Sinister''s body would have worked, just a little shorter.

X-Men Legends
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Box Sets
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse than Mystique, I stumble across this. Rogue is the most beautiful young southern bell in the country and Toy Biz went ahead and destroyed that image with this...THING. How hard is it to sculpt a pretty face? How hard can it possibly be to look at a lady's face and sculpt it properly? Look at any other Marvel Legend and the face sculpt is either spot-on or in the ball-park, usually acceptable, but THIS!? I don't see Rogue! Where's my Rogue! I want the minx I've seen flying around in the cartoons, blowing kisses right before she clobbers a guy. This plastic rogue looks like...an old hooker! There, I said it! "Rogue" stands 6 inches to the top of her head and 6 1/2 inches to the top of her hair (which looks like a bunch of black spaghetti). The...[See More]

I should add:
From the front she doesnt look so bad as long as you cover her face
And she should have a little hole in her back so we could use those clear base/stands to make her look like she''s flying.
Sentinel [Build-A-Figure]
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 10 - The Sentinel Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
When bullets and steel weren't enough to destroy the X-Men, the government found a new way to put an end to them, with Sentinels. Wouldn't you love to have been at that evil scientist convention when these things were invented? There was probably a Lex Luthor-type there ranting "The X-Men must die! Guns won't stop them! Bombs won't stop them! What are we to do!?" "How about we throw giant robots at them? They're all the rage nowadays" "...BRILLIANT! Order 70,000 of them made!" "Sir, we can only afford 50,000..." "Fine! You're fired! Now we can afford them!". To build a Sentinel you have to buy most of the Series 10 Marvel Legends figures because they each come with a major piece in the package. The mid-section, upper-body, right/left arms, and right/left legs are all you need. The body...[See More]
Cyclops
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 10 - The Sentinel Series
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I like the 90's version of the X-Men, probably because I grew up watching the cartoons. I liked how their suits looked like something people would actually wear and not something so outlandish or bland like before. Cyclops was a great, but now a lot of people seem to consider him as a whiny spoiled brat. Where is this coming from? Did the X-Men movies bring this on? I don't know, but I don't hear people talking about Cyclops nearly as much. It's always Wolverine this, and Wolverine that, and that's fine, but what's the point in having an X-Men team if you're just going to focus on one guy? Cyclops gives the impression of being short because of those large boot-cuffs, but he actually stands 6 1/4 inches tall. He wears the older X-men suit, a simple blue with yellow trim. The mask, gloves,...[See More]

this figure looks great! he''s at my local comic store for a pricey 20 dollars though... is he worth it? and is his head more articulated than the sup mariner figure? his head could hardly move at all, and cyclops really needs head articulation.

Yeah, the head moves fine, it can face in almost any direction. He doesn''t have the mid-section hinge though, like the Namor, because it''s the same body.
Well, I wouldn''t pay 20 bucks for it but that''s just because I don''t like this suit :P

Gambit
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 4
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Gambit's suit always seemed kinda wierd, but he always covered it up with that long brown trench-coat so it really doesn't matter how goofy it is. And when you're busy trying to dodge his exploding projectiles, you don't have time to question his fashion sense... Gambit is 6 inches to the top of his hair, but about 5.85 to the top of his head (not that big of a deal but it annoys some people, mainly me). The head sculpt is great, the eyes are black with red pupils, his hair is just right, and he has a classic smirk across his face (you can almost tell there's some French in him). He wears his regular black/lavender/blue suit and also comes with a brown coat. It looks like Movie Punisher's but it is much better. It also helps make him look bigger than his lean body is. The metallic-blue...[See More]

Okay, well, apparently Gambit is 6 inches to the top of his hair not just 5.80. You have to squeeze his legs together to get the last few millimeters, but it''s hard since the legs collide with the crotch, lol...
