Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) Reviews
Deadpool
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 6
Rated 4.50 stars by Ronnstein
Hands down one of the best ML action figures around, Deadpool has got it all: articulation and weapons. I just can't understand what that leg holster is for, since they're not really for the guns, but are too loose for the sais. Oh well, I just put the sais in there. Nice job on the colors, too. The replaceable head adds a nice touch to the figure as well. Excellent body proportion, except on Deadpool's shoulder joints which look kinda awkward, like he's got two melons for shoulders. Another must-have, and that's why Deadpool is included in my ML collection....[See More]

Agreed! The reason for the sais being so loose for the pouch is because DP's body is actually re-used. The original figure used was Urban Legends Daredevil, who's pouch is made for his billy clubs. They fit nicely in the pouch, but DP's sais don't. The body is a GREAT scult for Deadpool though.
Colossus
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 5
Rated 4.00 stars by Ronnstein
One of the ML figures a collector should definitely have, ML5 Colossus definitely brings the 2D comicbook character into 3D life. Action figure life, that is. Excellent POA, though ToyBiz could have given this some more articulation on the fingers. Excellent paint wash on the metallic parts -- makes him look harder than the paint job on the XMC Colossus which seems to lack that black wash effect. The only negative I can see is that I've been on my second ML5 Colossus, and they both seem to suffer from a loose waist swivel joint, right out of the packaging. And that the yellow paint job on the rubber-like vest seems to rub off easily. One more thing: that armpit joint (or whatever they really call it) looks weird when one raises the figure's arms up. It's like Colossus has got big...[See More]
Captain America (Ultimate)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 8
Rated 4.50 stars by Ronnstein
Another one of the must-haves in ToyBiz' ML line, Ultimate Captain America is one of the very well-sculpted figures with tons of articulation. And no more silly little white wings on the head, which makes this figure look more serious. Except for that lipstick thing again on the lips, just like on ML6 Cable. But that's easily overlooked. IMO, this is way better than ML1 Captain America -- definitely Ultimate....[See More]
Cable
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 6
Rated 4.00 stars by Ronnstein
Excellent sculpt and POA on this figure. The only minus points were the paint job on Cable's lips (lipstick?) and the fact that the cybernetic arms were molded out of flesh-colored plastic then painted in silver, which might have a tendency to rub off. I can't really understand the bike/BFG combo weapon at first, but it is still impressive. Nice touch also with the ammo-laden shoulder pads, except how it is mounted on the figure with that slot on the back. Overall it is one of the best ML figures around, and should be on everybody's wants list....[See More]
Iron Man (Modern Armor)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 8
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Our beloved bastich is immortalized with his very own Marvel Legends figure. And even though it came out quite a while ago it's still sought after by many fans, especially with the Civil War comics flying around. This Iron Man suit stands 6.5 inches, which makes sense considering its an iron suit (gotta make extra room for those rocket-boosters in the boots and the giant ego in the helmet). This is the Modern Iron Man suit, and everyone wants it so be sure to get yours while you can. The figure looks pretty accurate to the comics, although I'm sure some details had to be dropped to accommodate articulation, a choice well-made. Despite the apparent bulkiness of the armor, the fig is still super-poseable! All I've been hearing is how crappy the articulation is, and you know what, you're...[See More]

Well, Doc, (Knightmare) I must say that I agree with most of your review. This is a pretty good detailed sculpt, however I do have a few hangups with this figure. Tony Stark is supposed to wear an iron suit, but the figure looks so thin, it looks more like he is a cyborg. Lending to that is the wierd shoulder articulation, they look as if they are set out too far from his torso. If this is supposed to be an iron suit, I don''t see how even Mr. Fantastic could squeeze his arms into the ''sleeves''. I don''t think the figure is anywhere near as bulky as it should be. But other than that, I still like the figure.
Iron Man (Thor Buster)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 4.00 stars by universek7
This is a must have to any Iron Man Figure Series. Paint job is well done, along with great articulation. Out of all the Iron Man figures, this is probably by far my number 3 overall favorite. I love the individual fingers. This is a feature that they should include on all the figures instead of the all fingers move at once, such a hasbro has done. I wish they would make all his suits....[See More]

I''ve bought two. One is for a planned Destroyer custom, this version is well sculpted and articulated and is better that the 1st appearance version quality wise imo.

Wolverine
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Icons - Series 1
Rated 4.00 stars by VariablePenguin
I didn't actually buy this figure, my brother did and he wanted me to give him metal claws. That packaging is very good. It holds up well and is just easy enough to get in to. He's held in with twist ties which is strange from Hasbro as they seem to like to use those little clear rubber bands. Okay, enough about packaging, onto the figure. Wolverine comes in scale to the rest of the Icons. They decided to give him his brown and yellow suit, but instead of it actually being his classic suit, it is his current day Astonishing X-Men suit done brown and yellow. And I must say I like it a lot. His paint is applied fairly well. The dark shade of yellow is very nice. There are areas like around the glove cuffs and around the black on his mask where I needed to go back and smooth out...[See More]
Spider-Woman
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Great hair, a rockin' body, and bio-electric blasts, what's not to love about Jessica Drew? Her hands! Those awful hideous hands! Aaaaahhhh!!! Spider-Woman stands 6 inches tall (a little taller if you count the hair), a huge improvement over the first short Psylocke body. And it's a good thing they didn't just re-use the Psylocke head with different hair because this new head is a nice sculpt. The black lines are sculpted on, not just painted (on the mask, the ones on the body are just painted). The black hair is flexible, and mercifully, doesn't have any ugly blue highlights. The body is cast in red plastic with all the flat-yellow and black painted-on. The paint is pretty good, it chips at the joints though...[See More]

the reason she is missing the glove swivel is they had to cut costs to keep the prices the same.

It not a horrible figure and they got the character lppoking right but like you said if I was a kid wanting to play with it I can see some frustration building. But that don''t matter to me cuase shes gonna be so much fodder!

Sure, maybe, and also because the required peg won''t fit into the figure''s arm with those webs attached. The webs are glued on but they have little tabs that go into the figure''s body, the tab is deep enough in the arm to prevent a peg from being put in there to make the glove swivel. I mean, I''m pretty sure they could fit a peg in there if they wanted to, they could even have made the peg pop into the yellow part of the forearm instead of the red, but they just didn''t feel like going the extra mile I guess (how much more does it cost to add a swivel?). And I wouldn''t even care so much if it weren''t for those hands...
Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell)
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I know nothing about Captain Marvel, if you don't either then get one anyway; this figure is great for custom fodder! Mer-Vell is 6 inches tall with a great set of blonde hair. It could be even better if the paint-job were less blotchy and the hair-tips were sharper (Longshot's sweet golden mane has the same problem! Arrrg!) but it looks decent as is. He has a great head-sculpt too, strong dimpled chin. You could use this head for a custom Booster Gold or Hal Jordan! The skin that shows from the mask is finely painted and shaded (if only Hasblow would do the same...). The body is a basic sculpt, like Moon Knight's body, so it's great as a base figure for your customs. The only parts that aren't "standard" are the golden sculpted "Nega-Bands" on the wrists and maybe the feet are slightly...[See More]
Bullseye
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 9 - Galactus Series
Rated 5.00 stars by modern_messiah
.Bullseye, one of Daredevil's arch rivals, finally makes his appearance in Marvel Legends. The sculpt is reasonably good, but not outstanding. The facial expression is quite sinister, which is what I'd expect for a villain. The body sculpt is typical Toy Biz standards,a lot of articulation points. 44 points of articulation make Bullseye a hell lot of posing fun. These movements are found on his neck, shoulders (multiple points that stretch to the back), upper arms, double elbows, lower arms, wrists, fingers, torso, waist, hips, upper legs, double knees, lower legs, ankles and toes. While this may be quite the standard for characters of this scale, ie. the leaner looking ones, it's still quite a feat to have so much movement on a 6" figure. I'm quite surprised they didn't allow his...[See More]
