Al Simmons, assassin. After being gunned down by his own employer, Simmons was condemned to an eternity in hell. Once there he was given a choice: Sit and hell forever or become Satan's general and have the ability to return to Earth. Simmons accepts the deal and returns to Earth as Spawn, pledging allegiance to Satan. What the devil doesn't realize is that Simmons never really did play by the rules...
